Me

Hey there,

I am a sociologist, cultural omnivore and outdoor sports lover with 4 years of experience developing applications. Ive worked as a (freelance) full-stack developer and programming teacher in the past few years. Creating and sharing memorable experiences in tech and life is what drives me.

Back story
After graduating in Sociology on a thesis regarding young entrepreneurs in Shenzhen (considered the Silicon Valley of hardware) my interest in the the tech- and startup scene was sparked. Upon following a traineeship towards social entrepreneurship and starting my own social startup I decided I wanted to learn how to code. Le Wagon Dev bootcamp gave me the tools to work in a tech-company as a developer or to take my own startup to the next level.

Fun fact
I love outdoor sports like surfing and skateboarding, but somehow spend most of my time behind a computer.

Work experience

  • Freelance Software Engineer

Built and worked on various projects using SCRUM, Nuxt & Vue.js, ES6, Ruby on Rails, Docker, Google Gloud, HTML5 & CSS3.
  • Software Developer at Lexoo Ltd.

Lexoo is reinventing the legal industry, creating a competitive and transparent market that aligns with the interests of business customers rather than the partners of global law firms.
    • Implementing new features based on product demand specifications.
    • Resolving existing issues within the application.
    • Integrating 3rd party API's and services.
    • Researching and presenting new technologies to the team.
  • Teacher at Le Wagon

At Le Wagon I have had the pleasure of guiding over 200 coding newbies on their journey towards Jr. Developer. Starting from the basics of programming and ending with a 2 week final project sprint where they build a project of their choosing in small groups of 3-4. I have helped build approximately 20 projects over the course of 24 months. Spending most of the time in the Barcelona, Bali, Brussels and Melbourne campuses.

  • Developer, Oefenweb

Oefenweb.nl is a spin-off company of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Products of Oefenweb.nl are web based training-tracking systems to playfully train and measure mathematical or language skills. The products are adaptive; the difficulty of the exercises thus automatically adjusts to the skills of each child. This way the exercises stay challenging for every pupil. Oefenweb seeks to bridge the gap between education and science by using the collected anonymised data to develop new scientific insights.

  • Junior Developer, Voormedia

This agency creates websites, produces video and builds applications. Their expertise and software enables companies to serve customers online. Over the course of three months I helped build Protocol. This web app eases the process of reclaiming WHT on foreign dividends.

  • Social Entrepreneur

Co-founder of OuweTaart.amsterdam, this platform is designed to bring together two groups in society that not often enough have the pleasure to spend time with each other. By facilitating the platform where demand and supply meet we hope to provide elder citizens with an increase in personal value creation and young people with the option to buy an artisanal product or service made especially for them.
